Have you ever tried to hide sin? Here's a little activity to illustrate the futility of doing so.

Items needed for Hiding Sin

• Fluorescent Blacklight (easily obtained at Wat-Mart etc) or

• Blacklight pens

• 1/4 sheets blue paper

Instructions:

Have the kids write one of their sins on a piece of the blue paper with the UV pen. Show the kids how well that sin is hidden. Talk about how we can't hide our sins from God as you shine the blacklight on the papers.

Ask:

Have you ever thought that no one knew when you did something bad?

Ask:

Why do you suppose we hide from God rather than admit we sinned?

Ask:

Genesis 3:8—Why do you think Adam and Eve hid from God? (They were afraid and ashamed from their sin.)

Say:

Sin is sin because it hurts us or someone else. When we sin we shouldn't feel bad about it but we shouldn't try to hide it from God.

Scripture:

Proverbs 28:13—Hiding your sins will not make you feel better. Confessing them is the only good way to deal with them.
