Using Balloons a candle and water show how sin cannot exist in God's presence. But if you're filled with the Holy Spirit you will be fine in God's presence.

Supplies:

• 2 balloons filled with air

• 1 balloon filled with air and some water

• Water

• Candle

• Match

• Wet towel

• Bible

Preparation:

Have the air filled balloons and candle visible. Have the water filled balloon hidden.

Experiment:

Exodus 33:20 No one can see God and live because we're all filled with sin.

Isaiah 59:2 Sin separates us from God.

God can't allow sin into Heaven.

The Balloon represents sinful humans.

When exposed to the flame it pops. Sin cannot be with Jesus in Heaven

Put the air filled balloon over the flame. It will pop.

When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, He changes us from the inside out.

The water filled balloon is the person filled with the Holy Spirit and Jesus' righteousness. It is ok in the flame.

Put the water filled balloon over the flame. It will not pop.

Science

The reason the water filled balloon doesn't pop is because the water cools the balloon and protects it from the heat of the flame.
